Hannah Rodriguez major is Business Administration with plans to continue her education at Sam Houston State University.
“I plan on continuing my education at Sam Houston State University to earn my bachelor’s degree in business. I’m kinda nervous but also excited because it will be my first time forming,’ says Rodriguez.
Business Law was one of Rodriguez’s favorite classes at San Jac.
“My favorite course was Business Law because my teacher was funny and had a lot of interesting stories. One story I remember was about nuns who ran an illegal video pirating operation using a laundromat as a front. Which I thought was crazy,” says Rodriguez.
Beyond the classroom Rodriguez learned simple life skills.
“I learned that when transferring, it’s important to have a physical ID. For some reason, I never thought to get one, so of course, when I needed to transfer for Uni I had to go through the process of getting one. I still don’t understand why it was a requirement,” says Rodriguez.
She also credits two special people for her success.
“I stayed motivated by wanting to make my parents proud. Neither of my parents finished college so I really want to make them proud and get my degree. My parents and grandmother were a big help financially and emotionally as I worked toward my degree,” says Rodriguez.
Hannah stresses the importance of speaking with San Jac advisors.
“I wish I had known how to better plan for my degree. I feel like in the beginning I was kinda thrown off the deep end, and just splash around willy-nilly for a while. If I could go back I’d do things differently and definitely ask for help. Talk to your counselor! Please! Talk to them and plan your degree effectively. There are so many classes available, and it can get confusing so just talk to a counselor and they can help you find the ones best suited to your goals and needs,” says Rodriguez.
