Kyla Houston is a double major in the studies of Architecture and Construction Science. Her favorite class is Design Studies. Design is her favorite class because it gives her a chance to explore the creative aspects in architecture. A course that has had the most impact on her scholastic career is Design. Aside from just exploring the creative dynamics of design she is also captivated by the different contractual agreements that are to be used when constructing projects. Houston’s ultimate career goal is to own her own architecture design company for various and complex projects.

Houston’s best piece of advice for future graduates is to get to work early and start your projects early.

Houston states, ”Even if it is simply brainstorming, get those creative thoughts to work because anything is possible if you give it enough time.”

Houston also advises on asking questions if you are curious, “We are in school to learn, plus it encourages engagement for your professors as well.”
