Myra Ramirez, Diagnostic Medical Sonography major, North & Central Campus
Myra’s favorite course was Algebra because her professor was friendly and her classmates were very interactive. Throughout her time at San Jac, she learned about the importance of time management and she learned never to be afraid to ask for help. She plans to graduate with an associate’s degree in Diagnostic Sonography and begin working at a private clinic. Studying constantly, using the study rooms, and putting consistent effort into her work helped her earn her degree. Her advice to future graduates is to not overwhelm yourself with your own workload. Stay on top of your assignments and always remember that everything will work out.
Angelika Gone, Nursing Major, North Campus
Angelika’s favorite course is her psychology course because it taught her much about real-life skills and what other people think. A lesson that she will remember long after graduating San Jac, is how to manage her time. In her statistics class, she was given a template showing her how to organize her time, and she realized she was doing too much. She was putting in hours but did not have enough time within the week. Gone plans to become a registered nurse after finishing her last couple of prerequisites and applying to the nursing program at San Jac. Gone’s friends, family, and statistics professor all helped her earn her degree throughout her stressful journey. Her advice to future graduates is to stay on top of your work, maintain a steady schedule, and always believe in yourself when others do not.
Stephanie Lopez, Business Major, North Campus
Stephanie’s favorite course out of all her classes is Humanities. One lesson she will remember long after graduation is to always network because communication is vital to her future career. After graduation, she plans to further her education and work towards a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Houston. The career advisors and San Jac resources were a huge help in earning her degree. Aside from that, a lot of dedication. Her advice to future graduates would be to continue working hard and to use the resources that San Jac offers.
