The “Eat and Greet” event offers military affiliated students a chance to meet other veterans and/or family members of veterans. The “Eat and Greet” event takes place on the last Wednesday of the
month during regular semesters (fall and spring) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event is hosted at the Veterans Center at the three main campuses (Central, North, and South).
“This event is special from other occurrences because it provides military affiliated students a safe space to be themselves while at the same time get a free meal,” says Jose Nicole, a coordinator for Veteran Services.
Other events are presented that will help entertain the attendees and help them get their minds off school/studying.
“During the last event conducted in conjunction with the “Eat and Greet” at Central Campus, we incorporated making key chains and bracelets from paracord,” says.
The paracord project also provided the participants a reminder that just like that bracelet/key chain is built, that so are connections built and established with other fellow military affiliates
This event is funded internally by the Veteran Services department. The highest percentage age group is between 25 -35 years of age.
