Aliyah Guzman, Science Major
“I go to Central Campus. I’m majoring in Natural Science. I plan on doing respiratory therapy.” says Aliyah Guzman.
Guzman’s favorite course she took was Speech.
“A lesson from SJCD I will remember is that going to a big university doesn’t matter because it’s all the same thing.” says Guzman.
Guzman has been motivated to help keep her on track.
“I would say staying motivated about my future helped me earn my degree.” says Guzman.
Guzman tells future students that when working, time management is important.
“Some advice for future students would be that it’s okay to take your time.” says Guzman.

Nicholas Moreno, Film Major
“I go to Central, but sometimes I got to South. I’m majoring in General Studies, but I’m getting an associate of arts.” says Nicholas Moreno.
“I learnt that sometimes you don’t have to start random arguments.” says Moreno
Moreno states that he was originally going to attend University of Houston but thought against it and will look for film jobs instead.
“Originally I was gonna try University of Houston but decided not to, instead I’ll look for film jobs basically be a jack of all trades in the film industry.” says Moreno.
Moreno says that in order to reach his goal, he would lock himself in study rooms as he couldn’t get work done at home.
“I couldn’t get work done at home, so I locked myself in study rooms to get work done.” says Moreno.
The advice Moreno gives to future students is to find time for work and studying, and to ask the professor for help.
“Find time to study and get work done, and be a hundred percent sure, always ask the professor if you’re unsure.” says Moreno.

Zoe Lopez, Child Development Major
“I’m currently majoring in Child Development at San Jacinto Central Campus and am graduating with my associates this December.” says Zoe Lopez.
“My favorite course has to be Math 1350, it’s a course that gets you ready for elementary math and how to teach it.” says Lopez.
Lopez hopes to become a teacher and to continue to earn her bachelor’s degree to be a teacher in the next 2 years.
“I want to be a teacher and after this semester I will continue to earn my bachelor’s degree and hopefully will become a teacher within the next 2 years.” says Lopez.
Lopez states that her parents, partner, and boss have played a part in helping to get her degree with their support.
“My supportive parents and partner have helped me earn my degree, whether that was helping me pay for school or driving me to my classes when I needed it. My boss has also helped me since she is so flexible with my schedule and working around my school schedule.” says Lopez.
Lopez’s advice for future graduates is to never give up and to follow your dreams.
“The advice I can offer other graduates is don’t give up and follow your dreams. Don’t listen to other people saying you will never make it because you will!” says Lopez.
