The San Jacinto College baseball team has climbed to No. 8 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I poll after opening the season ranked No. 18 in the preseason standings.
With a 13-2 record, the Ravens have climbed 10 spots in just a few weeks and now stand as the highest-ranked team in Region XIV.
“It’s great for the players to be recognized and rewarded for the hard work they’ve put into the start of the season,” said Eric Weaver, head coach.
The jump in the rankings follows a dominant four-game sweep of Baton Rouge Community College. San Jac outscored Baton Rouge 39-7 across the series, earning three run-rule victories, including 10-0 and 12-2 wins. The combination of explosive offense and strong pitching performances has fueled the Ravens’ early momentum.
This success builds on a strong 2025 campaign, when the Ravens finished 39-17 overall and 28-8 in conference play, earning second place in the NJCAA Region XIV South Division. The team closed the regular season on a 22-3 run, demonstrating the resilience and chemistry within the program.
The Ravens return home Thursday, March 5 at 6 p.m. to face Blinn College at John Ray Harrison Field at Andy Pettitte Park, looking to continue their early-season victory.
