Texas’ March 3, 2026 Primary Elections determines the candidates that can run in the General Elections or Midterm elections on November 3, 2026. Primary elections is when democratic and republicans each choose their nominees for the November 3 midterm election ballot. The United States House of Representatives for Texas will result in the appointment of 38 elects to serve and represent Texas constituents.
All registered Texas voters can vote in the primary of their choice. Voters must choose to either select the candidates for a republican party or the candidates for a democratic party. Voters cannot vote for both republican and democratic parties. Third party candidates are not represented in Primary Elections, instead they are placed on the November 3 ballots. When voting, voters simply ask for the party’s ballot they would like to vote. A list of both parties candidates can be found here, by selecting “2026”, democratic or republican, and the correct county.
