Leslie Medina is a contributor to the San Jacinto Times and a Communications student in her final semester at San Jacinto College. She currently works at Shell Federal Credit Union, where she has spent the past four years building her professional experience. Leslie began her career there as a teller and, after two years of dedication and growth, advanced into the role of Marketing Assistant, where she now applies her creativity and communication skills.
Prior to Shell Federal Credit Union, Leslie worked for three years at Bari Financial Group, a money wiring company that serves Latin American countries. During her time there, she gained valuable experience in customer service and loan funding. Her professional journey began at La Michoacana Meat Market, where she worked as a cashier for a year and a half while attending college part-time. Leslie initially pursued a nursing degree before discovering her passion for marketing and switching her major to Communications.
In her free time, Leslie enjoys listening to music-especially Olivia Dean and country music— organizing her makeup collection, keeping up with the latest beauty products, reading about makeup brands, and exploring new coffee shops throughout Houston
After earning her associate’s degree, Leslie plans to transfer to the University of Houston-Clear Lake to complete her bachelor’s degree in Communications. She hopes to build a career in marketing within the beauty industry, with a dream of one day working for Rare Beauty.
