On Feb. 19, San Jacinto will host an Open House across all three campuses from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. This an opportunity for new students, current students, and the community to explore offerings at San Jac. San Jac recently launched a Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, which will be highlighted at the Open House.
“This program opens doors for careers related to transportation, distribution, warehousing, and operations” Vershonda Williams, Director of Outreach and Recruitment states.
At San Jac, creating a sense of belonging is what everyone on campus strives for, regardless of where anyone is at their educational journey.
“What makes San Jac unique is the people and the culture that the college is built on,” says Williams.
Classes at San Jac range from 20-25 with honors classes at 18 students on average, per class.
“Because of this, faculty are able to build more meaningful relationships with students and provide support,” says Mrs. Williams.
Having a small number of students play a crucial role in keeping students engaged and ensuring they receive personalized attention.
No matter where you attend San Jac’s open house, you’ll receive the same quality support at all three campuses, but the campuses can be geared towards one major rather than others.
“Specialized programs can only be taken at a specific campus due to facilities, equipment, or program needs” says Williams.
As students consider their educational paths, it’s essential to communicate with a Program Advisor. San Jac offers over 200 degrees, certificates, and continuing education programs. San Jac also offers four bachelor degrees;
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-to-BSN)
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Education (Early Childhood Education)
- Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cybersecurity
- Bachelor of Applied Technology in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
“I always encourage students to speak with a Program Advisor before changing their major no matter what their classification is, freshmen or sophomore,” says Williams.
This dialogue is key to understanding the potential impact on future courses, graduation, and finances, ensuring students make informed decisions.
San Jac’s career services office offers resources for students exploring different disciplines. The office allows students to schedule appointments to discuss career opportunities and engage in career assessments, helping them clarify their interests and future goals.
