Counseling and support services are offered to all San Jacinto College students 18 years of age or older. All SJCD mental health services are confidential – no information is released to anyone without written consent, except in the case of a life-threatening emergency or when it is otherwise required by law.
San Jacinto College provides free online mental health screenings for all San Jacinto College students. Mental health screenings are a quick way to determine if you or someone you care about may need to reach out to a doctor or mental health professional for an evaluation. They are educational, not diagnostic.
Key factors to keep in mind when completing a mental health screening include:
- Completing these screenings will help you determine if your recent thoughts or behaviors may be associated with common, treatable mental health issues.
- The screenings cannot be linked to any one individual, so you remain anonymous.
- It takes only a few minutes per screening, and at the end you will be presented with resource information and next steps.
