The Lee Davis Library of San Jacinto College Central Campus will play host May 2 to some special guests meant to warm hearts and settle minds before the arrival of a stressful week of final exams.
Recreational Sports Director Butch Sutton and Staff Assistant Mary Shelley teamed up for the third time with Paws 4 Grace, a community group at Gateway Community Church, to bring certified therapy dogs to the College as a stress reliever for students and faculty.
“Any student or teacher is welcome to come to this event,” Shelley said.
Rec Sports and the Lee Davis Library will provide visitors with free snacks and coffee.
“Both Director Sutton and I thought best to plan this event before (final exams) because we can understand that finals can be very stressful,” Shelley said. “And with Director Sutton being a part of the Paws 4 Grace group, (he) asked for permission if it was okay to bring therapy dogs to the Central Campus, and the campus administration is thrilled to see the puppies again.”
Meanwhile, Shelley said anyone who can show up is welcome.
“It could be a great time to de-stress from all the hard work everyone has put in this semester,” Shelley said, “and to have fun petting some puppies.”
Pet-A-Puppy will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on May 2 in the Lee Davis Library (C21) on the Central Campus.
