Student Organizations Welcome Season With Spring Fling
The smell of flowers, the vivid sun, and the warm atmosphere of spring is finally here, and the San Jacinto College Central Campus Spring Fling festival will welcome it all in.
The Office of Student life, on all three San Jac campuses, hosts its own spring festival with Central campus’s event scheduled for April 15. Central campus’s festival will feature music, inflatables, food and other activities organized by student organizations.
According to the Central campus Student Life Coordinator Amanda Rose, the Spring Fling is a “… fun outdoor festival- type event for our campus community.”
Furthermore, she added, the event offers students an opportunity “for engagement and community building.”
Rose said Student Life will gather leaders from different campus clubs in order to create a social outlet adding, attendees should expect “…a fun time with friends.”
The Spring Fling is a yearly event for students to enjoy entertainment outside of scheduled classes. “… It is (a) fun, enjoyable event for everyone involved,” Rose said.
Meanwhile, Student Life Assistant Christopher Gates said he thinks the festival is a good way of showcasing clubs students may not know about.
“This event brings together all the student organizations that San Jacinto Central Campus has to offer,” he said. “If you are looking to get involved, this will be a great opportunity to learn about all the clubs.”
Gates said he likes being part of Student Life because their events, particularly the spring festival, give students the chance to participate outside of academic activities.
“I like that Student Life always has events that everyone can get in on and have fun at,” he said, “especially Spring Fling because of the community feel you get when you come.”
Spring Fling will be held April 15 in the courtyard outside of the Student Center on Central campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
